The automotive industry has developed and applied a Continuously Variable Transmission to their vehicle to increase fuel efficiency. While the CVT is more advantageous than conventional step AT in fuel efficiency, it is known that the CVT was less satisfactory in “fun-driving” aspect. For a "sporty" feel, a virtual shift technology has been introduced in the CVT to increase the precision of hydraulic control. For this purpose, weight and efficiency of the oil pump have become a key development trend. Of course, these changes are likely to be exposed to a flow cavitation due to rapid pressure changes in the transmission, so that a suitable catalyst bubble inhibitor must be introduced into the hydraulic oil. In this paper, the suppression ability of bubble inhibitor by the content of cavitation inhibitor was evaluated to confirm the cavitation effect in the pump of the CVT. Noise / vibration measurement of the pump was carried out based on the oil property evaluation results. |
