초록 An experimental study is made on the effects of the installation of the metal wire in the end-gas region on the knocking combusition by using a rapid compression machine. A spark plug is located on the side wall of the chamber, and the metal wires with the diameter of 0.9 mm are installed on the opposite side wall. The result shows that the knock intensity is largely decreased in the case of the wire installation. While, the observation shows that the spontaneous ignition occurs even in the case of the wire installation. These results suggest that the existence of the wire in the end-gas region leads to the decrease in the strength of the pressure wave induced by the spontaneous ignition.
