This paper present the combustion characteristicsof dimethyl ether(DME) in constant volume combustion chamber. DME is a good alternative fuel having oxygen component in fuel. The combustion pressure, NOx, CO₂, CO emission measurements, and radicals are taken with equivalence ratios(￠), and initial pressures of DME-air mixture. The NOx concentration peaks in lean flame ￠=0.9~1.0 and CO₂concentration peaks at ￠= 1.0~1.1, while the CO concentration rises at the condition of fuel-rich mixtures. The radicals are also visualized with narrow-band pass filters and ICCD camera. |
