This study aimed to find the implications of body designs in a Purpose-Built Vehicle, which began to emerge recently after observing the characteristics of PBV as part of the various types of mobility service systems. This study observed the recent design characteristics of a Purpose-Built Vehicle, one of the types of main ground means of transportation in the future mobility service system. In this study, the implications for the body design of a purpose-built vehicle were inferred after careful analysis. Results include that a cube form body shape with a skateboard flat form could enable a higher level of design applicability in the vertical direction panel designs of its exterior. Also, an interior space that maximizes layout flexibility will be a feature of PBV-I type vehicles, compared to PBV-II type vehicles. The major design factor of the PBV-I in a future mobility system aims to fulfill the independent, practical needs of society and commercial uses in living spaces. On the other hand, design variety will be the most evident characteristic in both the exterior and interior designs of future purpose-built vehicles to meet the needs of smart industry technology. |
