The ball ramp mechanism has the advantage of converting the input rotational torque of the motor to the axial direction, and is mainly used in multi-plate clutches in vehicle power transfer devices. The design variables of the ball ramp affect clutch response time and current consumption of the motor, and because they interact with each other, design parameter optimization is necessary. In this study, the design variable parameters of the ball ramp mechanism for electronic coupling are derived using simulation and optimization tools, and the performance of the product with the derived optimized specifications is verified |
