The demand for pickup trucks with high spatial practicality and off-road capabilities has been steadily increasing, especially in the North American and Southeast Asian regions. In line with this trend, our company is developing a 2-speed ATC (Automatic Torque Converter) for FR-type pickup trucks, which enables off-road driving through front and rear torque distribution, and we are on the verge of mass production.Our 2-speed ATC adopts a ball ramp pressure clutch system for torque distribution..However, in the ball ramp pressure clutch system, unlike hydraulic systems, there is no separate pressure sensor, making feedback control of clutch pressure impossible. This results in a drawback where the clutch pressure weakens by a gap as the clutch wears out. To address this issue, this paper aims to utilize torque mapping through a target product clutch durability test to develop a wear compensation logic, measuring torque maps for clutch load and durability cycle points. |
