Most steering systems of vehicles assist a driver's steering force by a motor, which can be divided into column-type EPS and rack-type EPS depending on where the motor is mounted. However, interest in SbW, which can implement various steering performances, is increasing. SbW consists of a reaction force device (SFA, Steer Force Actuator) that provides an appropriate steering feel, and a device (RWA, Road Wheel Actuator) that steers the vehicle wheels by controlling and transferring the rack position using the steering input signal from the reaction force device. The worm & worm wheel type applied to the column type EPS is mainly used in the reducer of the reaction device. However, the worm & worm wheel type is disadvantageous to the package because the motor is directed toward the side of the column, and dual reaction device specifications are required depending on LHD/RHD. To overcome these shortcomings of the worm & worm wheel type, a reaction device with a column and coaxial structure is being developed. In this study, we will look at the anti-jamming spring of the planetary reducer for the column concentric reaction device for SbW. |
