This study proposes a fault diagnosis and recovery method for arbitration control of Electric Power Steering (EPS) systems in redundant environments. By utilizing IO ports between ECUs, internal communication faults are diagnosed, ensuring system stability even in failure scenarios. Specifically, the use of A and B ports allows for the diagnosis of ECU 2's status, enabling ECU 1 to maintain autonomous driving responsiveness despite internal communication failures. The proposed method leverages the low failure probability of IO ports to ensure reliable operation. This approach significantly enhances the reliability and safety of EPS systems by guaranteeing normal operation during faults, thereby contributing to driver safety. Future research will focus on experimental validation and further improvements to enhance the fault diagnosis and recovery capabilities of EPS systems. |
