This study explains why a Full Redundancy EPS (Electric Power Steering) system should be applied to autonomous driving control. In particular it discusses the importance of steering angle signals in autonomous driving control, the types of steering angles that can be used, and how to enhance the reliability of steering angles for autonomous driving control. The paper introduces the concept of Full Redundancy EPS, explains the calculation methods for steering angles and motor-estimated steering angles, and describes how consistency checks for autonomous driving control steering angles are performed. Based on this, it also details the process of transitioning autonomous driving control steering angles. |
